The origin story

From Tokyo teens
to the whole world.

'03

📱The flip-phone spark

In early-2000s Japan, teens started covering their keitai — mobile phones — in rhinestones, stickers and trinkets. Born from kawaii and gyaru street culture, it was self-expression you could hold.

'06

🍦The cream revolution

Crafters began piping whipped-cream-like silicone onto cases, creating a dreamy 3D "dessert" base that grips charms like frosting grips sprinkles. Decoden found its signature look.

'10s

🌍The world takes a bite

Riding the global kawaii wave, decoden spread across Asia, then everywhere. It outgrew phones — mirrors, trays, tumblers, jewelry boxes. Any surface became a canvas.

Now

💗Your turn

Today decoden is loved as much for the calm as the cute — piping and placing is half craft, half therapy. At Deko DIY Studio, you make it yours: kawaii, glam, edgy, or totally you.

The toolkit

Four ingredients.
Infinite combinations.

01📦

The base

Phone case, mirror, tray, hair clip — any clean surface ready for its glow-up.

02🍨

The cream

Whipped-cream-look clay or silicone, piped through a frosting tip. Glue and fluffy texture in one.

03🍓

The charms

Flat-backed resin sweets, bows and figures — the heroes of your design, pressed into the cream.

04

The sparkle

Pearls and rhinestones scattered between charms to catch the light and tie it all together.

The process

Watch it come
together.

1Pick & plan

Choose a base, dry-fit your charms — heroes in the middle, sparkle around them.

2Pipe the cream

Swirls and waves through a frosting tip, thick enough to hold everything snugly.

3Place the charms

While the cream is soft, press in charms, pearls and rhinestones. Tweezers help.

4Let it set

Undisturbed for 3–5 days to fully cure. Then? Show it off.
